I like this product. It is clear plastic so you can see the balls. I recommend this product. Ships in it’s own box. It has one star crack and another small crack in it. That’s why I gave it a 4 star as it was damaged in shipping. It does it’s job. In a shipping review I noted this and took pictures. Amazon has not responded to this. I do not think a person sees or reads these reviews. I did not file for damages as it’s damages are slight and the product still useable.

Warped, but works

The tube came a little warped which required me to squeeze the end when emptying out the tennis balls. I tried putting clamps on the end for a couple of days in hopes of re-shaping it, but it just bounced back into it’s warped shape when I took the clamps off. Then I tried using a heat gun to gently warm up the end inside the rubber end-piece and then gently squeezing it, and that did the trick. Now it’s perfectly round and holds it’s shape. I’m not sure why other people said the strap is useless; it works fine, you just have to slide the buckle to give it enough slack to fit over your shoulder.

My daughter is taking tennis lessons and the parents are supposed to retrieve the balls. The instructor has a metal tennis ball pick up hopper which I found too heavy after carrying it around using using one arm. I also have a bad back and being on the court for over an hour and in the heat it was draining me. I ordered the balltube because I figured it would be easier to carry around on the court and be more light weight. It is easier to retrieve tennis balls than the metal hopper but I wish I ordered one that could hold a little more balls. I have to go clear across to where the instructor is to dump the balls in his cart more often now but there is less strain on my back.

The elastic for holding in the balls looks like it’s not going to last long

I haven’t used this much. It’s easier to use the basket to pick up the ball. With the tube you have to aim. with the basket you just bunch the balls together and press down. I have a bunch of red balls which is too big for this tube. Orange balls are ok. The elastic for holding in the balls looks like it’s not going to last long.

It works but it has a flaw

The flaw with the Gamma Ballhopper lies not in it’s ability to pick up balls — it does that fine. The fault lies in the strap and the connecting points for the strap. The rubber on the connecting loops at the top and bottom of the tube is thin and weak. Mine broke off after two weeks. There is now nowhere to attach the strap. I don’t need the strap anyway, but it’s a bit annoying. Harder plastic would be better.

Need extra rubber bands, where do I get them?

Nice durable tube. But rubber band broke after 5 uses.

So much easier to use than the traditional metal basket.

This is a great portable tennis ball storage unit that enables me to travel with it on my bike with my tennis bag and water jug.

I am very satisfied with this ball tube. I hate bending over and picking up balls and this does the trick nicely.
