Modifications will make this a useful

This unit needs modifications from the factory. The net does not have enough support to stay tight. The bottom base pole should connect from base to base to give the end pole enough support to keep the net

Great pickleball net – as long as you add weight!

I ordered this net specifically for pickleball. It is regulation height (36″ at the posts, 34″ in the center). Several reviewers have stated that it sags too much in the middle but that is not the case if you add sand as the manufacturer recommends. I first tried the net without any ballast and it did indeed sag too much in the middle. But after adding about 22 pounds of sand in each base, there was just the little sag exactly as it should be as per pickleball regulations. I would not try to add and remove sand each time – I just leave it in all the time. No problem transporting for a short distance. But if the weight (around 26 pounds each) is a problem, you could use water and empty it every time. When I first set it up (after adding sand) it was exactly 36″ and the poles and 34″ in the center if I only had the top connectors hooked up. As soon as I attached the connectors on the bottom of the net, there was more sag. I fixed that by adding a short mini-bungee at each end (bottom clips only). see the attached picture. A short cord would work too. I played last night and although it was somewhat windy the net remained taut and was still 34″ high in the center when we finished.

This is the easiest setup I have ever used for badminton. It takes less than 5 minutes to set up, and take down is equally as fast. I filled the base with sand and it has not had a problem with staying upright even when kids run into it or hit it with the racket. I cannot attest to the value of it for pickle ball or tennis, but as a badminton net it works superbly. The poles are powder coated nicely and slide easily to adjust height.

Great outdoor fun for the entire family. Use on a lawn or driveway

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this. I was pleasantly surprised. Like most things from Lifetime, the items are well made and durable. It’s portable in the sense you can easily move it around, but not so flimsy a gust of wind will knock it over. The net is reasonably robust, but if you’re expecting a competition level construction, you should look elsewhere.

Great set for the back yard!

We LOVE this set. I hated paying so much for it because the nets always seem to get trashed from one year to the next. This is way more sturdy than any others we have had. The fact that we can just pick it up and move it easily to get it out of the way for the sprinkler system and for mowing, is wonderful. The big plus to this set is that it comes with pickle ball paddles and balls. We have found that we really like pickle ball. The balls that come with it are only for hard surface areas. We used wiffle balls to play on the grass. It was so much fun!! I would highly recommend this set!!

Robust stands

I bought these really needing the stands more than the other items in the set. I had used really crummy stands in other badminton sets below $100. These are really robust. They are weighted by sand or water in the bases, are easily moved when you need to, and with the three leg design, do not tip inwards into the field of play pulled by the net.

Great net set…but how will it handle being setup in a yard?

I recently purchased the Lifetime net set, for the sole purpose of playing badminton in the summer time when I have people over to the house. For all intents and purposes, I don’t plan on using the paddles and included accessories for the other games, so my review will center primarily around the net itself.

Love it!

So worth the money. We had a cheaper set before this with strings and stakes stretched all over the yard. we just filled these with water and it stays in place. It is very well made and my kids play around the clock with their friends. They say that paddle badminton is better than using the racket.
