Pocket Radar-Pro Performance in the Palm of Your Hand
Pocket Radar is the next generation in radar technology. Independently tested and certified accurate by the police radar test lab, it delivers the same great accuracy of other professional radar guns at a fraction of the cost and fits in the palm of your hand. Its compact size allows you to keep it within reach any time you need it.

Pocket Radar allows anyone to afford the same accurate speed measurements as other professional radar guns in a smaller, more convenient package. The hand-held size allows you to take measurements discreetly without changing the behavior of athletes or those you are observing. It can do more than traditional radar guns, including measuring runner speed and acceleration, as well as ball speed out of the hand, and ball speed off the bat, stick, club, or racquet. Pocket Radar works great for traffic safety/engineering, baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, golf, cricket, motorsports, R/C hobbies, winter sports, education, and many more.

Nice small, efficient, accurate radar gun

 on May 3, 2014
By Doug from RI
The Pocket Radar Personal Speed Radar Gun is good for what it is intended for, obtaining speeds in MPH or FPS, when the user is not too far away. We have found it very accurate, but it does occasionally give a far off reading, mainly on small targets or when driving and shooting through the windshield. Good 140 dollar deal of the day on 26FEB2014. Compared to what I expected, it is outstanding. It agrees perfectly with three GPS devices that we own and one car’s speedometer that we tested is accurate. For one car with non-dealer tires, this unit is more accurate than the speedometer. Discovered many cars on our road went over double the 25 MPH limit, including some police without their emergency lights on. Even some coming down the hill on bicycles go over the speed limit. We obtained some vehicle speeds from over half a mile away, after getting use to how to aim the radar and ensuring that our fingers are not blocking the receiver/transmitter on the top back of the unit. Highly recommend that all read the users-manual before using! The only problem we experienced is that low speeds often do not display. After reading the user’s manual, discovered it only measures MPH speeds between 7 and 375. One concern is if will function in the rain, but I read others had problems with it measuring the rain speed instead of the intended target. It is K band, but is so low power with such a short radar burst that it usually does not set off many radar detectors unless in continuous mode or very close to the target. Accuracy is plus or minus 1 MPH, if the user is directly ahead or behind the target. Look up the pocketradar web site for many useful videos. A very nice machine. Everyone that I loaned it to really likes it. My rating is based on what we paid, long battery life, accuracy, ease of use, well written directions, nice hard case and how well it works for our requirements.

Great for coaching softball pitchers

 on February 23, 2014
By Gregory Buckless
I coach middle school and high school softball pitchers and needed something that I could use to measure their pitching speed. I needed it to be something that I could hold in one hand, while I catch the pitches in my glove. I heard about the pocket radar, and saw the positive reviews so I decided to see it it met my needs. I received it on Friday and on Sunday I want to a local clinic where I knew I could compare it to the more expensive juggs brand guns that they use there.

Accurate. Portable.

This has been a great product. Incredibly portable vs a traditional “gun” style radar. It is very accurate when you use it correctly. When you use the device from right behind a pitcher and measure at release it is as accurate as any product. It falls off quickly as your move in an angle from the subject and from a distance. If you want to sit in the stands and measure velocity of kids throwing then spend a lot more on a Stalker. If you want something to use as a coach or Dad in training sessions to see if their offspeed is dropping the 8-10mph it should or the slider is a couple mph lower than the FB then this is a great device.

Skeptical at first…Now very pleased…

I bought this to help train my daughter’s pitching, as having measurable results helps motivate her. I used one of the speed radars that you stick on the back of a glove for a while. I hated using it because while it was fairly consistent with fast balls coming right down the target line, it didn’t work well with any other pitch that required the ball to spin and move. Plus, comparing the glove radar to actual radar guns, it was consistently 3-6MPH slower than the guns.

Reslly helps stop the speeders on my block. The police are too busy at the donut shop

Seems accurate and is so small it is very convenient

I coach softball and this is so easy to use, carry around, etc. It seems very accurate and the batteries have lasted a long time. I also play baseball and have had friends clock me and it seems accurate for that, too (though I wish I could throw a few mph faster!). It takes a few practice throws to get used to when to time pressing the button but that’s not a problem, you just need to read the directions and follow them….Press the button as the pitcher’s arm begins coming forward, NOT as they release the ball.

Inconspicuous and accurate for softball

I picked this up for measuring the speed of my daughters pitch in softball (12″ balls). The results are consistent and fairly accurate. I’ve been very impressed with this. My only complaint is that you need to get the timing right to take the reading of a pitch.

This is a have to have item for a dad of a softball pitcher

If your daughter pitches you understand that statement and probably are trying to decide between this and other radar guns. I recommend this one over the $100.00 less Bushnell gun. It works well and looks like a cell phone. I didn’t have good luck with the two Bushnell’s I purchased online.

Pocket Radar Works Extremely Well

Outstanding device. We’re using it to record speeders on our street and registering excessive speeds with local police as a basis for requesting more active speed monitoring/ticketing.
