The Good: Very light, easy to assemble, and the clips to hold the handles in place are excellent. I have used this 10 times or so and really like the way it picks up balls and then I can transition to the upright position to feed balls.

This is pretty much what i needed. I needed something to hold a bunch of tennis balls so I could practice my serve and then easily pick them up. It works well, the legs when locked in place are sturdy and later, when setting it down on top of tennis balls on the court to pick them up, is really easy. I guess I’m just not sure how long the plastic box part will last…….hopefully for a long time. Overall, I’m glad I got it and will be using it a lot so if something goes wrong with it I’ll update this review. I haven’t counted how many balls it will hold but I have no complaints about how many balls it gives me to practice serve with.

Decent product & works as expected

I’ve used this ballport a few times while hitting practice balls at my local courts, and I’ve been impressed with the quality of this product. The ballport is light yet seems very durable and sturdy. I’m easily able to pick up balls by pressing down on the ground. The stand works reasonable well. It took me about 20 mins to figure out how to put in together. I currently have about 20 balls in the ballport and plan to add more soon. It does appear to be able to hold about 80 as stated. I wouldn’t hesitate to get this item for yourself if you are a coach or want to hit some serves on your own.

Great Design & Ease of Use

With all the wire baskets commanding a higher price, I was a little hesitant to order this one, especially that I ordered two. We have 5 kids and I wanted a basket for normal pressurized balls and a basket for the Quick Kids 60 balls.

It makes playing with your dog fun again…..

By a long way from home
If, like me, you have a dog that loves to play ball, this is the gadget for you. I know, I know, its supposed to be for tennis courts, but honestly my backyard often looks like wimbledon centre court during a practice session. My dog IS good about bringing the ball back but at the end of the day when she’s getting tired, she leaves her balls on the grass. Once every couple of weeks we take the Pete Sampras ballport out in the yard and pick up 30 or 40 balls. Ball retrieval used to be an excercise in back pain (we’re old and achy here) but now its a joy.

This ball hopper works great! The legs/handles are sturdy and don’t fall off. It picks up the tennis balls easily. I’m not sure it would hold 80 balls, I have 30 in it and it’s half way full but I don’t have 80 balls to test it with. It worked so well we bought another one, one for my side of the court and one for my husband’s!

A bit short-handled, but still 5 Stars!

The instructions were written by someone who can’t teach or even spell, but it still went together nicely — just requires a touch of thinking. The legs on this would be just right for your average height guy from where this is made, but anyone over 5’8″ is going to stoop a bit to use it to pick up balls. Other than for those slight nits, this hopper is simply great. The balls are easy to pick-up, enter the hopper easily and stay there securely. Quality construction and very intelligent design. The legs go from pick-up to stand-up in a few seconds and I find it securely keeps the hopper in place when the legs are fully engaging their detents. Best to use a soft mallet instead of the recommended hammer for assembly, however, so as to not ding the plastic. The fiberglass rods used for loading the balls on the bottom have just the right amount of “spring” to make pick-ups easy and secure. Two more fiberglass rods are used at the top, but will mostly be left in the “open” position unless you’re calling it a day and want to keep the balls in the ballport for storage. I can see this lasting and working nicely for a very long time. If only they made the handles about 3″ longer….for those of us taller folk without monkey-long arms 🙂 Still, I like it! Tough plastic construction makes me feel better about this in every way as it’s light, strong, looks good and is one less thing to scratch up my car when I’m tired and careless after a good tennis session. Strong buy recommendation. Just get past the chinglish instructions and it’s good to go.

Assembly wasn’t too difficult, but the illustration wasn’t completely clear. Two bars go on top and two bars go on bottom. We were missing four screws to complete the job. Luckily, I found some at home that fit the holes.
