My wife wanted to go back to tennis after 7 years, and since she never finished her training the first time, we decided to get a beginners racquet and see how it works for her. A little bit of online search revealed this Wilson model among the top ranked beginners’ racquets which was also surprisingly the cheapest on the list! It was a no-brainer, and we ordered it through Amazon.

An inexpensive good racquet for beginners

You cannot drive a fast return with a light racquet like this, but the manufacture is good throughout and the racquet has a proper size and fit. A negative is that the grip is covered with a cheap, slippery material.

Just boy it

I want to start out by saying that I am a complete novice. However, these rackets are large, light and worked extremely well during the two hours that I’ve used them so far. I bought two, and my friend liked them very much as well. They were comfortable to use, and were a large improvement over some older, heavier and more expensive models that we had been using. Highly recommended – at least for novice use.

An OK racquet for beginners like myself, in spite of what my snooty, tennis-addicted sister-in-law has to say about it (i.e., it’s too light, she’s not sure it’s an adult racquet, etc.). To me, the price was right, it’s light, and it serves its purpose. New to the game, I like it! I just have to remember not to yell “FORE!”, when hitting passers-by with my tennis balls.

Great Racket for the Money

I bought two of these for my 9 year old son, who wants to start playing tennis. The extra large head is nice for beginners and the racket is very light. Highly recommend for the entry level player.

Good buy

I am terrible at tennis but wanted to hit balls around with a friend at a nearby court. This was a good way to be able to play with him without spending a fortune. Has held up well.

great starter rackets

Ordered two racket for my teenage kids, who are just beginning tennis, and these are great for starters. They are light and forgiving which works well with first time players. I only gave it four stars because I am not sure how they will hold up over time. Based upon the construction I think the racquets will last them through the “learning to hit” phase but will need to upgraded once you have the basics down. For the price, these are good racquets that you wont mind getting beat up.

Comfortable, good grip, great price.

It is comfortable, good grip, and the extra size makes a difference. It could be a just a little heavier but that is a question of personal preference. If you are just starting out or play casually, this racquet makes playing enjoyable.

Great racquet for beginners, great price.

My son wanted to join tennis for the first time (freshman) and we had a rather expensive, but older racquet at home. Turns out there are lots of thing I do not know about tennis and racquets. The old one was heavy and the strings were, apparently, not consistently tight. I really don’t understand the jargon. Anyway, went on Amazon and read reviews for this, purchased one, and he LOVES it. He came home ecstatic over the improvement in his game immediately.
