Nice Starter Racquet, but Review a Size Chart

Nice, affordable, light tennis racquet, but wish the listing would have included (or we would have researched for) a size chart like the image attached (which came with this racquet) since the 19″ racquet seems a bit small for even our relatively small 5-year old.

Great racket for a beginner tennis player. Nice and light and easy for kids to handle. Here are the age guidelines for the Wilson kids line:

How to know which size- measure fingertips to ground = size of racket you should buy your kid.

The size of the racket you should buy your child is determined by the distance from his/her fingertips, when standing straight, to the ground. My son is 7 and this racket is a great size for him, however his sister, also 7, is 2 inches taller so I would choose the next size up. It might say an age on these rackets but it’s really based on your child’s height.

Great beginner tennis racket for kids. I’d say this racket should work up to age 6-7. It’s light and has a short grip so it’s easier for little wrists to maneuver. I noticed many of the kids in my daughters tennis clinic had the same racket, came to find out the tennis pro shop was actually recommending this exact racket to all beginners in her age group. We looked around at several different stores and this was the best racket for the price that we found.

When my son’s new tennis coach heard that I ordered the racket online and it was a Wilson he was skeptical! He thought the racket would be too heavy for my 7 year old and suggested that next time I go in-store. When my son showed up to his 1st practice the coach was pleasantly surprised! He said the equipment I bought was great! Amazon forever!

Great for my 5yo

I got this racket for my 5 year old. It is very lightweight. We play racquetball in a racquetball room and it works perfectly! We had issues with making due with racquets in the past, but he kept breaking the other racquets (I am talking like paddleboards). This one works well and is not very loud when hitting the ball! I recommend this racquet – it is inexpensive, lightweight and gets the job done!

A good start!

Great first racquet! As a former tennis pro, I can’t wait for my grandchildren to start their tennis journey next year when they are 2 1/2 years old. I’ve gone through many racquets myself since the 1960’s and know quality. This is a good starting racquet.

I am an adult male and a tennis beginner. I find that this smaller racquet gives me more control.

Great racquet for beginners

Wonderful racquet for beginners! My 4.5 year old son loves it and was making better contact and got the foam ball over the net more times than he has since he started playing 4 months ago. The colors are perfect for a little boy, or even for just gender neutral colors. Much better than one I had originally ordered online which was hot pink and purple. Those were not very gender neutral…

Bought for my 7-year-old son who just started tennis lessons. He likes it and said it’s the right weight and size for him. He’s 53 inches tall and weights about 59 pounds, not quite a athletic build but likes to play sports. His coach recommends a 23″ racquet for his age and size.
